The analysis and management of PCM related data presents several challenges. One of the challenges is related to data acquisition during patient evaluation and diagnosis. The Center of Training and Reference on Infeccious-Parasitary Diseases from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CTR-DIP-UFMG), coordinated by Dr. Enio Pietra, has developed a protocol for clinical analysis of PCM patients. This protocol includes a large number of clinical variables that are assessed in each medical examination, including x-ray and serology tests, which are also used in tracking the disease progression.
